The Department of Additional Languages includes faculty members of English, Hindi, and Malayalam. The Department is actively involved in the activities of the college and supports other disciplines by way of providing classes for Common Course English and Second Languages- Hindi and Malayalam.
With a view to improving the language and personality skills of our students, the Department offers Literary Club where tips and practices are provided in oration, debates, group discussions, etc.
Tribute to the Poets
The Department offered glowing tributes on the demise of two of Malayalam’s all time great poets- Mahakavi Akkitham Achuthan Namboothiri and Sugathakumari. You tube videos of around six minutes duration encapsulating the life and works of the poets were uploaded by the college union under the initiative of the Department of Languages on 17 October 2020 and 24 December 2020 respectively.
National Unity Day
A talk on ‘Unity in Diversity’ was organized on 31 October 2020 as part of National Unity Day. Ms. Insha Rose, a proud Alumna of Morning Star Home Science College was the speaker of the Day. Around hundred students participated in the webinar.
